Training & Healing

“First I will weave you the shape of the stone… and when you are frayed on a far green field, down to the Font on the shoulders of friends — over and under and home again.” — The Seamkeeper’s Codex, the Grove-Weaver’s Song

The Sylvan Grove weaves three shapes, one per element. Each pairs with Guardians of its own element for a synergy bonus:

Troop Element Character
Ancient Guardian Earth The wall — endurance and weight
Biolume Sprite Water The current — balanced and quick
Sylvan Stalker Fire The blade — damage-forward

Elements also matter against enemies: Earth beats Water beats Fire beats Earth (+30% attacking into advantage, −20% into disadvantage). Since monster nodes have known compositions, you can pick your counters.

Each troop type comes in 10 tiers, unlocking as your Academy levels. Higher tiers hit harder and survive longer (stats scale with tier), carry more on gathering marches, and cost steeply more — a Tier 1 Ancient Guardian costs 50 Essence and 10 seconds; Tier 5 costs 2,000 Essence, 810 Ironbark, 375 Gold Coins, 100 Astral Ore and 160 seconds. Per troop.

  • Sylvan Grove capacity — your total army size: 500 at level 1, +~150 per level. Troops in the Font’s queue still count.
  • Academy queue — how many troops you can train in one batch: 5 at level 1 rising to 25 by level 30. The Academy also gates your maximum troop tier, and each level trims training time by 1.5%.

Training is a queue, not a tap — batch sizes and timers mean your army grows in pulses. Queue a batch whenever you log in.

This is the mechanic that shapes the whole war, so here it is precisely:

When you win a fight, about 85% of your losses are wounded, not dead. Wounded troops go to the Healing Font and can be restored at 25 Essence and ~60 seconds each (both reduced 2% per Font level, and further by Warden-branch research). When you lose, only ~55% of losses are wounded — defeat kills.

Two hard limits:

  1. Font capacity (100 at level 1, growing steeply) — wounded beyond capacity are lost outright. Level the Font before you fight.
  2. Healing is a queue — wounded troops aren’t fielded until healed. An army stuck in the Font is an army you don’t have.

After every battle, open the battle report, check the wounded count, and start the heal — the Heal Wounded tab in the Font shows everything waiting. Details on reading reports: Battle Reports.
